7/07/2002  Team FDM takes 2nd at State TTT

Dallas, Tx

A-La Eddy Merkx, Team FDM came out and rode the State Team Time Trial with very little aero equipment. With three road bikes and Eller's TT bike, Team FDM was able to capture 2nd place just over 1 minute back of the full on aero-equiped Sun & Ski team from Houston. On a very challenging TT course, the team caught 5-6 teams and managed to hold off a very strong Hybrid/Plano Cycling and RBM/Trek/VW team. Thanks to TBI for another great race.

Team FDM takes two of three in first weekend of HONT

Dallas, Tx

With the Texas summer upon us, Team FDM took no time at all to heat things up! As the first weekend of the HONT series opened in Texas, Team FDM blasted to the top of the standings with two wins and a second place finish.

Seth Pelusi kicked things off on Saturday during the Texas State Championship Criterium. With an old jersey and fresh legs Seth blew the field away being in a long break before destroying that break away to finish in a fine solo victory with hands raised!

Sunday at the New Hope Road Race near McKinney it was Randy Eller who took over for Team FDM. Eller very alertly covered an early break that had lots of horse power. Being very team smart Eller was able to take advantage of the team dynamics in the break and had little responsibilities in the break. After 75 miles off the front of the race Randy proved to have the best legs in the end and got his first Road Race win of the year in fine Team FDM hands raised style!!

Team FDM welcomes Doren Bingham to the team's "Elite Travel Platoon"

Dallas, Tx

As the team is in its rebuilding phase, Doren Bingham has been moved to the top squad to help the team in its quest to kick some serious... No problem!! Doren has been racing bicycles since the late 80's and is a perfect fit on our A team. With several trips under his belt with the squad, he has proven his strength and commitment to the team, not to mention some pretty good results.

Doren recently competed in the Tour de Gila in New Mexico, in the cat 2 field. Some bad luck and the lack of a wheel truck sent him out of the race before the finish...Dammit!!. Doren will be racing this weekend in Inez and Victoria as well as traveling to Arkansas next weekend for the Joe Martin Stage Race.

Check out Doren's mug on the Team Lineup.

Welcome aboard Doren!!

FDM sweeps the track clean for the third consecutive night

Frisco, Tx - Superdrome

After a good warmup Friday night, the Team made it three in a row in track omnium. Shaun Bonavita once again took the top spot in the 1-2-3 race, while Davis & Eller continue to torment the cat 4 field. This makes two nights in a row that Team FDM took the top spot in two different cats; and three races in a row for Davis & Eller.
The team will be traveling to Natchez, MS for a stage race April 19th and 20th.

Team FDM dominates lower cats in first outting on the track

Houston, Tx - Alkek Velodrome

Team FDM's Randy Eller and Jason Davis made a very rare appearance at the Alkek Velodrome in Houston April 4th for a little fun during some down time from road racing. Both FDM members are cat ones on the road and cat fours on the track. This provided the guys a good time to experiment and learn during their first times on the track.
It did not take long for the duo to get the hang of things, as they took 1 & 2 in the first and third events and 1 & 3 in the second. With that the duo took 1-2 overall with Randy taking the win and Jason second. The guys will be racing on the Superdrome in Frisco April 12th and 14th.

FDM Celebrates Eller's B-day by dominating Nolan Theriot Criterium

Lafayette, La - Criterium

Team FDM kicks off the race right on the front setting the pace high. After one lap Nick is away with one of the LA locals and the rest of the guys go to the front to control the pace. After 2-3 laps the break comes back and immediately JD is off with 2 more. FDM gets back on the front and the gap grows big quick. Once the break is established and away, Eller, Kiernan, Bingham, and Jarrad go to work on the field. Several attempts to get across to the break later and the field is beginning to break down. JD's group is holding steady at around 30sec when Eller makes a big attempt to get across. Randy gets within 15 sec of the break but just could not get all the way across. It now looks as if the break will stay and the rest will be a field sprint. Now for the FDM show. At the front JD attacks with 2 turns to go and takes the win by 2 bikes. Back in the field, Nick takes charge and lets a gap go for Doren who takes 4th, then Randy in 5th and Nick cleans up in 6th. Aravana sweeps up the last money spot and gets 12th. The team did another fantastic job of controlling the race and taking top honours.

Put a Little Madness into Mexico!!

Monterey, Mex - 2-Stage Race - Field of 100, including the Mexican National Team.
Road Race is won in a strong solo effort by one of the Mex Nat Team boys, with FDM taking 3rd, 6th and 7th.

Based on points (not time) the FDM boys had to come up big in the criterium to take the GC.
Final lap, the FDM train is on the front - Eller, Davis, Kiernan, and Bonavita.
Eller puts in a huge effort at the front (no doubt in that 54x11) with 1/2 lap to go...
Eller pulls off and Davis goes to work - the throttle is pinned at this point ...

"Its...... Its...... KIERNAN TO THE LINE!!! KIERNAN TO THE LINE!!!!
ARMS RAISED UP IN SALUTE OF HIS TEAMMATES WHO FOUGHT EVER SO VALIANTLY TO PUT HIM ATOP THE HEAP!!"
Jason Davis holds on for 5th, and it looks to be enuff for TeamFDM to take the OVERALL GC in Mexico!!
